Grr.

Hay naku, Poj...wala akong pang blackmail sayo.

Anyway...darn review. I feel like I'm going to miss it after it's over. As Poj said: " I feel so comfy na. hehe. Grabe, our jologs classmates didn't turn out to be that jologs at all." Pero para sakin, jologs pa rin yung mga Claretians na nandun, pero the other people are actually nice and friendly.

Today, though, sobrang nakakapagod!! Two mock exams, and Math itself was just exhausting. Hay naku...one of our classmates from Ateneo is so intelligent. He makes us feel bobo. Who gets near-perfect/perfect scores in Math and Science??

Hay! Tomorrow, we'll have our "one day weekend." Then it's back to review classes on Monday. Yes, Monday...Labor Day.

*Oh God, the British tabloid press are speculating that Prince William is gonna propose to his girlfriend in the Caribbean. Nooo, dammit!! Please don't.

Review

Weird. In my last post, I spelled "nangunguyakoy" with a t in the end, as in "nangunguyakot." But I changed it. And I also found out that the root word of that word pala is "nguyakoy." Weird, huh?

Poj, if you're reading this...I just want to say that you missed out A LOT in review. You really couldn't have picked a better time to be absent!! (I'm being sarcastic.) Ang daming gossip sobra!! And you missed all of them!! Shit... there was so much to laugh about!! Nasira pa ni Rash yung isang chair!

About review...it's better now than it was when we started...kasi dati medyo naiilang pa kami.

But you know what I learned in review today? I can't believe gossiping could be so much fun!!

Turbulence.

I haven't gone online in a while now. (A while means three days, haha.) Review classes are so tiring...but what do you expect when you sign up for whole day classes. It's a good thing I have Poj, Betsy, Gemmalie, Jescia and Abby as classmates.

Poj said in her blog: "...because of this review I can see different types of people with psychological problems. Yes, we do have classmates who are 'nangunguyakoys' to the highest level of their optimum power...." Funny.

I swear. Since we have wood floors, the room shakes when someone does that. At the first day, this guy who was sitting behind us was a major whatever you call that. So my chair was shaking and I was moving my chair forward all the time 'cause I thought Jescia was kicking my chair 'cause she was behind me. Yun pala nagv-vibrate yung floor dahil sa pangunguyakoy nung tao sa dulo sa likod namin. Woah...even if I was in the middle seat, I could feel the floor shaking. Haha.

We were even mimicking how you put on a seatbelt on a plane. But at least we have something to laugh about during breaks.

If it weren't for three days ago, I wouldn't have learned the word "nangunguyakot." Haha.

Woah...next week, six days kaming papasok. Dang. Also (like Poj)...I'm really happy Ace got eliminated.

Yessirree...

Oh my God.

I couldn't believe it...did the teachers just pity me or something? It's unbelievable. I'm an honor student. Dang. I already had my "Life Sucks, I Got Line of 8's in My Card" entry, and lots of sorrowful music on my playlist...but to hell with that now!!

I'm ecstatic. Well, not on the outside...but I'm definitely jubilating in my head. I was freaking out last night, and tossing and turning and bed. It was crazy. After I watched One Tree Hill, I knew I'd just be contemplating on whatever was to be my fate today, so I read Half-Blood Prince to get my mind off things. I can't believe there's so many things I don't remember from the books now.

I'm just really thankful that all that hard work (including all the sweat and tears) weren't for nothing. I'm so happy, and proud of myself, I guess.

Yeah!! I even got an A- on my conduct grade. Haha...first time.

Anyway, review starts tomorrow...I'm really excited because I'm review-mates with people I know. Yey.

Edit:

AI: I can't believe I missed Queen week. I haven't even seen any clips of the contestants singing the Queen songs. I think I saw Bucky's performance on Ellen briefly, but I'm not really sure if that was from the Queen week. Also, I'd like to say that I'm disappointed that Bucky went home, 'cause he was definitely better than some other contestants. It was obvious though that he just didn't have a lot of pzazz or whatever.

Well anyway, they did Rod Stewart today...and I'm quite surprised a lot of them did well. I was like "Woah!" on Chris Daughtry's, and however annoying Taylor might be, his performance was good as well. I thought Kellie could've done the song a lot of justice...I mean, she started out good. What a shame.

If I'm to bet on who's gonna go, I'd choose from Kellie or Elliot...but I would like to see Elliot go 'cause I can't stand looking at him. When they focused on him with Kellie ("prom dates"), he looked like a pirate or something with the squinty-eye thing. I like Kellie 'cause of her funny comments...but she's not the best singer.

Also, Potter fans and Sims 2 fans, please watch this.

G-Max: Reverse Bungy

Get a load of this!!

Super cool. It's only a view from the outside...so you can't really see how high up we really are. We have the video of what we looked like inside the bungy, and I swear it's the most hilarious thing. I don't know if I can upload it though.

Singapore was super cool!

I'd love to get into full detail, but since that would take too much of my time and energy, I'll just do like numbered lists or whatever...

G-Max Reverse Bungy in Clark Quay. Yup...I've been in that position. Super awesome.

COOLEST THINGS I DID:

1. REVERSE BUNGY!! - Clarke Quay
Shit. G-Max rocks!! I love it to death! I wanna ride it over and over and over again. It fuckin rocks. When we were walking up to where the bungy thing was, we saw this group being flung to the air and the first thing I heard was "Ayoko naaaa!!!" It was hilarious. How many Filipinos are in Singapore??

They actually don't countdown so you'll get so surprised when one second you're just sitting there and the next you're being flung at 200 kph. I didn't even feel it until we were halfway up. Then we got flipped over and went down even faster. It was petrifying!! I was gripping my seat so hard I thought it would rip from the bungy. Then we went up again, then the scariest part was the backward 360 followed by another huge drop. It was the scariest, coolest and best thing I've ever done. I remember we were laughing like maniacs after the ride ended. I wanna go again!!

We watched the video just a couple of hours ago, and it's sooo funny. My sister's face is hilarious!! I wanna show it to everyone!

**I know the others would pale in comparison, but let's continue, shall we?

2. CHAIRLIFT RIDE/LUGE - Sentosa
I've never been on a ski lift...so it was cool. The luge was so fun. I actually thought the luge was like a toboggan or whatever...but it turns out it was this sort of go-kart without a steering wheel, just a sort of lever to stop, go and steer. We rode it twice...but nothing beats the first time.

3. 4D MAGIX - Sentosa
Like the 4D Discovery thing in EK...but I haven't been on that particular ride, so this was a first for me. It was fun...the film was "Pirates," and we were so surprised when they started spraying us with water. I was laughing the whole time. The bees sort of freaked me out though.

4. IMAGES OF SINGAPORE - Sentosa
I used to hate museums because they were always boring...but this one was so fun and interesting. They had this super cool show at the start and a wax museum inside. My favorite part was in the WWII part...they had this big newspaper on the wall and the picture was moving. Very Harry Potter. Then there were radios and TVs from the 40s that played whatever news was on at that time...it was super cool. Sorry, I suck at describing.

5. NIGHT SAFARI - Singapore Zoo
This was the first thing we did and it was real cool. Getting there though was so annoying because we bickered like crazy during the subway and bus rides (we had no clue about anything). The animal tour was cool...but I really wanted to see owls out in the wild. I got to see giraffes, elephants, lions, hyenas, rhinos, tigers and some others though. I actually didn't know they were nocturnal.

Then the most embarassing thing happened to me in the animal show in the ampitheater...there was this guy in our row who stood up and was saying "Maggie, Maggie." I actually thought he was looking for his kid...but when his voice started to become amplified, I knew it was part of the show. So he said it was big like ten feet long so we knew it was a snake. Then he started "looking" for it then pointed below where I was sitting. And I and everyone near me screamed , then he said "Nice shoes." So I just laughed a bit...went with the flow. Then he "found" it in this trapdoor someplace else and it turned out it was this huge python. He went down and the host started asking who wanted to hold the snake. THen the guy said "The girl with the nice shoes," then I felt this huge spotlight turn to me, illuminating my face as well as my embarassment. Then the host said no, they needed a "macho" guy to suit this "macho" snake. So I sighed in relief. But quite frankly, I wanted to hold the snake...'cause snakes are cool...and harmless pythons are even better. But the thought of standing up there in front of about 300 people saying "Joan...from the Philippines" was really scary. And I might fall to the ground once the snake started coiling around me because of how heavy it is...and it looks real heavy.

6. SUBWAY - all over Singapore
Our first time sucked...'cause we were arguing about how to get tickets, 'cause they have this automated ticketing machine, and we didn't know what the hell we were supposed to do. But we rode the subway close to about ten different times, and I feel like I'm an expert already. The most fun was when we were in Dhoby Ghaut interchange...and we stepped out onto the platform and the other train was already there so all the people were running like crazy to the other side. It was soo funny. Funniest phrase I saw: "No durians allowed."

7. WINDOW SHOPPING IN HMV/TOWER RECORDS
HMV is huge!! I know I swore off buying CDs, but I couldn't help it. The record stores there had such a vast collection, I actually didn't want to buy anything because I wanted all of them, and they cost $25 each, and that sucked. So I listened to a couple of CDs and Stellastarr*'s Harmonies for the Haunted was the one I liked best. I wanted to buy the Sex Pistols, because back then I tried in vain to find that...but I already have the album on my iPod so I sort of discouraged myself.

8. SENTOSA'S GARDENS/FOUNTAINS
It was picturesque. We couldn't help but take lots and lots of pictures. My siblings and I toyed with the camera. I don't know why so few people were there, but my dad says the bus system there's messed up, and that place should've been the first stop (it used to be 'cause that place was the ferry terminal). I mean, the musical fountain was there and it was gorgeous! We didn't get to see the lights and sounds show though.

9. FOUNTAIN OF WEALTH
In Sun-tec city they have this fountain of wealth where you go extend your palm and touch the water and then go around it three times counterclockwise. There was supposed to be a fountain show but we decided to miss it (and for no reason).

10. BOATING IN SINGAPORE RIVER
This was part of the tour, and it was really nice. We saw the places around Singapore River and got to see the Merlion with the water shooting out of its mouth. Real nice. Also, the restaurants in Boat Quay (as well as in Clarke Quay) looked a lot like what you see of Amsterdam in pictures. It was quite cool actually.

NOT SO COOL ABOUT SINGAPORE:

1. The people there don't care who's staring at them. They're PDA-ing like crazy. PDA as in public display of affection. I remember we were on the escalators and it was night time and then this teenaged couple were hugging. Then they started kissing (with tongues, I bet) like crazy...and the guy even wiped the girl's lips. I regret why I looked...but we were going down and they were in front of us and in plain view. It was disgusting.
2. We walked all the time. My dad's crazy...he walks so fast and we get left behind. And we walk about a kilometer to the City Hall station or to wherever...and my ankle started swelling again. Haha. Also, what I hated about going with my family is that we argue and bicker a lot and they annoyed the hell out of me most of the time.
3. There were freaking monitor lizards in Sentosa. The lizards they have there crawling up the wall were huge. Super disgusting.

Chav

Funny little pic.

Yeah! We're leaving for Singapore tomorrow. I just don't know why I'm not super excited for it...'cause usually for these things I pack like three days before and get all giddy. How weird. Maybe it's because I'm not so keen on spending four days in a place where the only people I know are the people going there with me. And God knows how they annoy me a lot of times.

One of them actually has just annoyed me by saying it's his turn to use the computer. The answer is "no, it isn't." Then he yaks about how I'm always telling him to get out of the computer when he's not even done yet with what he's doing. Hahaha. Doing what? Counter-striking? Hahaha. Like it's any more important than what I'm doing.

Anyway...I'll be missing AI tomorrow and on Thursday...which obviously sucks. They're gonna do Queen...and you know how I like Queen. The only good thing I get out of not watching is that some of the contestants might butcher the songs. And that's worse. Like David and his Crazy Little Thing Called Love rendition...or Constantine and his weird tongue sticky out-y thing during Bohemian Rhapsody that scared the hell out of me.

At least One Tree Hill is on tonight. Right on!

Torpor

How mundane my days have become ever since school went out. But hey, at least I have some things to keep me busy. You know, like reading and tv and the computer. Oooh...how exciting!

Well, at least we're getting the hell out of this country next week...even if it's just for a few days. Hah! Like Singapore's gonna be any less hotter than here. Wahoo...reverse bungee!!

God, I'm totally suffering from heart burn, and I'm getting paranoid (as well as annoyed) because of it. I hope it's nothing serious...but I bet the heat is playing tricks on me.

* *
New obsession: Rufus Wainwright. He's absolutely brilliant.

If you're gonna check him out (like if you have money, or the time and speed to download :p)...I suggest you check out his album, Poses. It's brilliant. His voice is heaven.

New layout

Forgive me, I know it's too green.

I was fucking struggling with this layout because I couldn't get all the codes right...and the links still aren't done. But hell, I'll fix everything else in the days to come.

Poj posted that on her site. Awww. Nathan and Haley forever!!

There is hope once again for One Tree Hill. The second season kinda sucked...but the new one is just super good! I envy Poj...she's watched episodes 1 through 18. Dang. I haven't watched a single full episode of the third season (for various reasons). The last one that showed was just too good.

Edit:

Yes, I have finished Macbeth!! And in just a span of a few days. Who knew? It took me a month to read Julius Caesar. But it turns out Macbeth is Shakespeare's third shortest play...so it isn't such a remarkable feat after all.

I'm fucking sweltering in the heat right now. God, I need some airconditioning!! Unfortunately, though, I'm gonna have to be contented with an electric fan on steady. Sucks. Reminds me of that thing Macbeth said...about his "heat-oppressed brain." I know it means something else...but I just laughed out loud when I read that.

Another funny thing...when I was reading the Weird Sisters' incantation thingy in act four I was singing the words. You know, the "Double, double, toil and trouble" part. God, I love Macbeth. It's super cool... I don't know if I liked it better than Hamlet, but the events were definitely much more exciting. I also liked the morals, but it's hard to elaborate on that. Shakespeare actually mentioned Edward the Confessor and James I (of the Stuart lineage) who is of Banquo's kin in the play...and it kind of makes you wonder if this actually ever happened. The "Scone" mentioned in AP class was a place pala. I was kind of perplexed when it was being discussed because I thought it was a thing. Like something the kings sat on.

And oh yeah...Order of the Phoenix: July 13, 2007!! Yeah! So it will probably show here on the 11th. Super cool.

Also...if you remember...I was talking about this thing in the GoF DVD (which I absolutely detest). It's in the Leaky Galleries. Shit.

What the hell is she doing in Rob's dressing room? She doesn't even have any scenes with him! Damn that woman!

Freedom!

Yes! The torture is over!!

I've seen my Chem grade and it was dismal. Yup...I failed. I haven't failed a quarterly test since who knows when (I don't think I ever even failed Bio). Now I'm predicting my grade in the card will drop significantly.

Doesn't our teacher feel sorry for us? Can't she pull down the highest possible score when half of the third year populace obviously need it so badly?? No...because a certain someone got a perfect score. Spare us the sadness.

I've seen my Geom grade as well and it's acceptable. I have high standards for that test because I had jolly good scores the last three quarters. You know, what I really want to see is my Filipino grade...so I won't be totally surprised if I don't become a merit-card awardee. But there isn't a hint of resignation in me yet. I'm still hopeful.

Whatever... On a different note, I really feel like I'll accomplish a lot this summer. Exciting!! I lurrve summer!!

I won't miss third year, just like how I don't miss second year, nor first year.
