And the Half Blood Prince is...

No...I'm not gonna tell you.....

I am disgusted at my two cousins. Last night, they told me who died in Half-Blood Prince. And I was only 4 chapters short of finishing! Have they no heart??

This happened to me when I was reading Order too. A classmate walked up to me and said conversationally while I was reading, "Hey, did you know Sirius died?" (In Filipino, of course.) It's irritating when people do that. Karma! Karma to them all! Grr!

As if that wasn't bad enough, a few hours ago in school some classmates were saying out loudly who died and who the Half-Blood Prince was. I feel so sad for the others who wouldn't want the book spoiled for them. But whatever...who died and who was the prince really wasn't very important. The story was...and you really can't explain it well to someone. They should read it themselves to understand.

Anyway...time to talk about the book. It was very very nice!! Better than book 5...but you can't really compare it to book 4, because HBP's like a different calibre to the first few books. Reading two thirds through, you'd actually think that the book wouldn't be as dark and gloomy as it was in the end. And it really is gloomy in the end.

Also, there's this really cool chapter near the end. It's the coolest in the book. Though a bit on the freaky side. It's like a Lord of the Rings combined with a Dawn of the Dead scene. I would love to see that on film! It would look so gorgeous (but it's really not supposed to be...it's more of on the scary side really)!

I can't really dwell too much on the book...seeing as it's only been two days since the release. I just really wanted to finish the book before most of everyone else does. I CAN'T WAIT FOR BOOK 7!!!!

New York Times: "... the suspense generated by these books does not stem solely from the tension of wondering who will die next or how one or another mystery will be solved. It stems, as well, from Ms. Rowling's dexterity in creating a character-driven tale, a story in which a person's choices determine the map of his or her life - a story that creates a hunger to know more about these people who have become so palpably real."

At present time, there is a mere thirteen (yes, thirteen) hours until I get my hands on the next Harry Potter. It's my happiest day of the year. Well, of course, there's still the GoF movie... But my excitement for the book surpasses that. I absolutely can't wait!!

In school, the English campaign was put into effect. Two words: as if! But the hell I care, really. They say it's for academic excellence...well, so be it. People have just been so freakin annoying.

Anyway... Just a few more hours, Harry!

London 2012, here I come!

Yup, yup. My most favorite city in the world is going to host the 2012 Olympic games! So very cool! When they announced 7:46 last Wednesday, I was jumping up and down! I'm hoping to watch...but I don't know which event yet really. By then I'll be living/studying in London. Hehe. (I hope.)

Candidate city no more.

The only event I watch when the Olympics comes by is the swimming events. And that's bound to get boring once you're actually watching live. I wanna watch something exciting. Also, they're planning to build the stadiums and all those in the East End of London...which is pretty cool of them, since it's the poorest side of London. And it'll increase employment and all that stuff. But some businesses are actually worried that they may be wiped out once they start building the place.

Btw, other candidate cities for 2012, were Paris, Madrid, New York and Moscow.

But something unfortunate happened the day after, there were bombings in the London Underground, which killed more than fifty and injured hundreds. PM Tony Blair says he's sure that these were terrorist bombings. I just hope this never happens again.

On a lighter note, we've all seen the front cover of Half-Blood Prince, now check out the back: Click.

7 days!

Grace vs. Grit

Yup, yup. Last night was the awesome Wimbledon finals, the match between Federer and Roddick, my two favorite players. It was really really cool. Although I was really rooting for Andy, because it's too obvious Federer would win...but anyway. Jude Law (who looked kind of drunk) and Sienna Miller were spectators there. Pretty cool. I wasn't too hyped up about the women's final with Davenport and Williams. I wanted Sharapova to be in the finals, but unfortunately, she wasn't. Can't wait for next year's Wimbledon!!

But the coolest part of the match: Federer crying.

Honestly, by the time I'm 25...you'll be seeing me in the Wimbledon finals. Watching, hehe. But hey...who knows?

Also...what a good week last week. Tuesday, some of us went to the funeral of Cardinal Sin. Nothing to dwell on there, we just walked a mile, saw the state thing, waited for a couple of hours, and we actually left before the funeral rites. Wednesday, class elections. Secretary. Thursday nothing happened. Friday, varsity try-outs. Saturday and Sunday...non-stop tennis!! Plus, they showed the British and Irish Lions Tour in New Zealand...and guess who's there? Prince William. They showed him clapping once.
Roddick on Federer: "He's probably as close as has been to unbeatable. I feel like I played decent and the stats are decent, and I got straight-setted. I'm not going to sit around and sulk and cry. I did everything I could.'' Well said, Andy. Well said.

**Countdown: 12 more days of waiting till the most glorious event of the year! HBP!!
