Crap-ola.

What a day!! Chem sucked like hell! I forgot the whole Bronsted-Lowry thing...and I wasn't sure what I was doing in most of the problems and identification items. And the heat was unbearable!! I would've cried in the middle of the test but that would make me too overdramatic. Then if it started to get really hot, people would start sneezing and coughing, and it would feel even hotter.

To add to the pain, guess who sprained her ankle today. I was walking down the stairs and I sort of slipped and 180d my right foot and it snapped really loud. I actually thought I broke my foot...but I could still limp so it was obvious it was a sprain. What was worse though is that when I started walking that incident in the Chem lab was happening to me again (muffled hearing, hazy vision)...but I started drinking like hell from my jug so it went away after a while.

So there I proved that that whole drama in the chem lab wasn't really connected to anemia or anything stupid like that. It was probably more of a hyperventilation ordeal or something of that sort. Whatever. Hopefully by tomorrow I won't be limping anymore...'cause I honestly look like that servant guy in the Leaky Cauldron in Prisoner of Azkaban. Uhg-ly.

Well, at least there's only three more days left in the school year. Thank the Lord!!

...and I still can't stop laughing about that Nanny McPhee joke.

one more week

It's weird to be using the computer and not doing anything term paper-related. You know...everyone got so jumped up (there's a better word I can't quite put my finger on) about the term paper that it really began to annoy me a few days in to the week. The fuss was stupid, really. If people had stretched the term paper in the span of even just a week they wouldn't be complaining so much. Don't complain if you procrastinated...'cause that's your fault.

Whatever...mine turned out quite well, actually. I thought I wouldn't be able to piece it all together...but I did, so I'm very happy with the outcome. I just don't know why we have to acknowledge anyone. I'd acknowlege just myself...but that'd make me sound arrogant, so I didn't acknowledge myself at all. How sad. At least now all I have to worry about are the tests.

I watched Finding Neverland again. I'd forgotten how beautiful it was. It was so beautiful it was even perfect...right until the very end.

Odd's bodikins, man!!

Yes, in my version of the book, Hamlet says "Odd's" instead of "God's"...and it's cooler.

Wahoo! I'm a bit more cheery this week than last week...coz last week was just dismal! It really was.

At least we did our stargazing thing last Friday night. I didn't expect it to be fun, but it's super cool. However, the first years were sort of annoying and got really noisy during the night. We don't have that much energy. We promised ourselves that we wouldn't sleep...but our bodies don't work that way anymore.

Shit! I'm loving the Harry Potter DVD!! I wish I could watch it over and over, but since I'm so preoccupied with studying (haha)...I can't. Actually, what I'm really preoccupied about is the term paper. If I was a plagiarist I would copy-paste like that (*snaps finger)...but I'm not...so I'm doing all this fuckin research, and I'm flipping back and forth through tons of research just for a couple of paragraphs . It stinks.

At least one good thing that I'm getting from the research paper is a greater understanding and appreciation for punk rock.

Back to the DVD...my fave part is "Meet the Champions" (the behind the scenes thing with the three champions). Rob Pattinson = super hot. There was a gag moment though...it was in Rob's dressing room...and he just got out of make up for the maze-graveyard scene...and then surprise surprise, the slut-whore (initials EW) makes an appearance. The camera guy asks "So does it look manly?" or whatever...and she says in her annoying voice "Very manly. Very manly." Oh shove it!

I still get chills when I watch Goblet of Fire, though...and that's peachy!!

In other news...prom pics and video are out. Hello low self-esteem! Sana ay mahanap ninyo ang prom pic ko sa CD because I will never ever ever ever show it! Kapeesh?

suckfest

This week is the worst. My wallet got lost/misplaced in the classroom...and I don't even have a trace of some sort. It couldn't have been stolen. How stupid! How could this happen to me?

Along with that, my legs are so stiff and in pain because of our endurance exercises in training (I wish it hadn't rained). I can't even go up and down the stairs...I have to shuffle all the time...and it doesn't even work! I hate it.

Sometimes I wonder if God really wants my life to suck.

Well, at least I have my Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire original DVD to comfort me. We only bought it yesterday and already I've watched all the bonus specials. My favorite is definitely the Champions special with the behind the scenes and a sort of "day in the life" of Rob, Stanislav and Clemence.

Crash

So that's why it won Best Picture...

Let me just say that Crash is such a great movie. I mean, if I had watched this before the Oscars, I would have been rooting for it to win.

It's a hard film to describe, since it's an ensemble film...but it takes plays in 48 hours where different lives "crash" into each other. It's just such a beautifully made film. It deals a whole lot about racism in America...so there are very heavy issues portrayed here.

I cried so much...and even after the movie, I was crying for about five minutes while I was contemplating the film. It's such a moving film...and I like the way some of the conflicts were resolved and other conflicts were not...because that's just how it is in life. There's not always a happy ending.

My favorite storyline would definitely be when the lives of the Persian storekeeper and the Latino locksmith were intertwined. That was just the most moving scene in the film. If my dad wasn't watching beside me, I would have been wailing.

There were a lot more that stuck to me...but I won't dwell on them because there are too many.

With that note, I'd like to say... Please watch this movie.

"In Crash, a simple car accident forms an unyielding foundation for the complex exploration of race and prejudice. Thoroughly repulsive throughout, but incredibly thought provoking long after, Paul Haggis' breathtaking directorial debut succeeds in bringing to the forefront the behaviors that many people keep under their skin. And by thrusting these attitudes toward us with a highly calculated, reckless abandon, Haggis puts racism on the highest pedestal for our review."

AI is back!!

This is a long overdue post...but what the heck...

Yes, American Idol is back!! As of now, Sway, the Filipino is out...but I don't really care. He wasn't one of my favorites, but he was good. Just not great.

My favorites this time around are Chris Daughtry and Bucky Covington.

I was so blown away from the very start with Chris with his cover of "The Letter" and right then and there I knew I'd be rooting for him. But I checked his page in the AI website, and he says his fave male artist is Rob Thomas. Eww. (He was only good when he was in Matchbox 20.)

With Bucky, I really liked his cover of "Simple Man," and the song he sang this week. I like the way his voice sounds. Francine says he looks weird, but I don't care about looks. Haha.

With the girls, I don't really have a favorite. I really liked Kelly Pickler at the very start, but her vocals doesn't really amaze me. Paris Bennett sings very well...I liked her "Wind Beneath My Wings." I also liked Katharine McPhee the first week.

It's sad David Ratford had to go...'cause I really liked him in the auditions. But I agreed with Simon that when he wanted to do those kinds of songs, he had to be confident and have charisma. Otherwise, it won't sound good or it won't project well.

I guess I also like Elliot Yamin's voice...but he looks so weird! Weirder than Bucky!

In addition to American Idol, the new season of the Amazing Race is FINALLY here!! I've been waiting for this 'cause now they get to travel all over the world. In the premiere episode, they went to Brazil...so I can't wait for what's in store next week!
